Foil packaging is the classic packaging solution. Foil packages can be either flat bags or ziplock bags, which are particularly suitable for packaging sales items. The advantage is clear: they are easy to close with the so-called “Euro hole” which is well suited for individual sales and retail packaging.
Foil packaging is very versatile. SK foil pouches or zippered pouches can be used as a courier or shuttle bag when made from fabric-reinforced, transparent PVC film. Simple tote bags and passport holders can also be made from SK foil pouches.
All these different foil packagings have one thing in common: the material they are made of. Foil packaging consists of either LDPE or HDPE foils. LDPE is the abbreviation for low-density polyethylene and signifies this is a low-density material. HDPE is derived from high-density polyethylene and refers to high-density polyethylene produced under low pressure. The molecular weight for conventional HDPE is less than 300,000 g/mol. For HDPE, the abbreviation PE-HD is increasingly used today. Our packaging service produces your foil packaging from either LDPE or HDPE.
